The University of Arizona has become the first academic institution in the United States to adopt ‘Open Repository’ – the service from open access publisher BioMed Central, which builds, hosts and maintains uniquely customized DSpace repositories on behalf of organizations.
Through the implementation of the Open Repository service, University of Arizona now has a uniquely customized, reliable and cost-effective repository solution.
Speaking of the announcement, Kimberly Chapman, Campus Repository Service Manager at the University of Arizona Libraries said:” We chose Open Repository because we were looking for a hosted service to help us get started. Open Repository allowed us to get started and focus on working with our customer base immediately. We also benefitted from the experience and expertise the Open Repository staff had with DSpace technology.”
